Salthill v Follands II

Salthill Cricket Club entertained visitors Follands II in their Hampshire League match on Saturday. Salthill without some key players, such as Dawtrey and Court both out with broken bones, needed a top team performance if they were going to win this match.

Follands won the toss and made Salthill bat first. Opener Wallsgrove continued his fine vein of form hitting 45 in an innings where runs were initially hard to come by. Bishop top scored with 50 and the ever popular Longland returned to the side with a quick 30. Salthill made 187 for 7.

Salthill took to the field after tea and made headway into the Follands batting line up with some steady bowling from Heather, Johnson and Bishop. It was the middle order of Harrison (40), Northway (43) and Sathe (36) which looked to be the match winning performance until the return of Heather who finished with 5 for 44.
