Chidham Village Hall Goes International!

Chidham Village Hall hosts 2 concerts in October featuring musicians from England, Scotland, and Senegal.
First up is the Senegalese kora (African Harp) player Diabel Cissokho who was once an integral member of African superstar Baba Maal’s band.  He’s bringing his own band to the hall on Saturday 13 October for an 8pm show.
Four days later Scottish blues singer Maggie Bell, and English blues guitarist Dave Kelly are in concert on Wednesday 17 October at 8pm.  Maggie fronted the legendary band Stone the Crows whilst Dave started his career with the pioneering John Dummer Band before joining former Manfred Man vocalist Paul Jones when he formed The Blues Band and this association has gone on for for more than 40 years.

Meanwhile, over at Hamblin Hall in Bosham, a fascinating couple of days await when Campfire Convention is staged on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 October.  Established by Pete Lawrence – who founded the Cooking Vinyl record label, and the Big Chill Festivals – it’s a unique opportunity for people to get together and discuss matters which are really important to them, personally, regionally, and globally.  Pete calls it ‘an organic think-tank for everyone’s creative ideas to be openly discussed’.
